About Us

Sequoia Springs Trauma Healing Center is a non-profit organization that provides support to individuals, couples and families in the greater Tucson area as they find their path into healing and recovery. We specialize in the treatment of trauma and are committed to working with people who would like to improve their sense of connection, communication, empowerment and healing in the challenges that create stress, conflict, isolation, and addiction.

We believe that healing from trauma includes but is not limited to traditional therapy. We want to work with the whole person, addressing physical, behavioral and mental health, to find the tools and strategies that can help heal.

Our specialties include working with children, teens, young adults, adults, couples and families, first responders, and veterans. We are focused on treating people and their loved ones impacted by traumatic events, including but not limited to sexual assault, abuse, injury, illness, divorce, abusive relationships, social and peer issues, bullying, addictions, grief and loss, being a victim or witness to a crime, and combat.

Our Story

When thinking about an image that captures how powerful it is to work with trauma survivors, what came to mind was how many pine trees generate new growth. Fire climax pines, like the Sequoia, drop their cones on the forest floor, and inside the cone, encased in its protective exterior are the seeds for new growth. These seeds can only open through the impact of fire.

The Sequoia became our inspiration.

It is from the fire that the Sequoia seeds are opened, and in the ashes of what has passed, the ground becomes a richer soil for the new growth to happen.

Trauma, like a fire in the forest, is devastating, but it does not have to mean the end of the story.

The strongest and mightiest of Sequoias have all come out of a fire.
